MY STORY

My name is Milica and I run a chartered architectural practice in North London specialising in bespoke architectural solutions.
After developing my architectural practice over twenty years in larger practices and working on a variety of typologies and scales of projects, my aim is to apply my knowledge and skills to your specific requirements to enhance and bring to realisation your individual project.
My approach is to demystify the RIBA stages in the plan of work by developing the client's brief with efficiency and clarity to achieve their desired goal.
Services provided are tailored to each individual project and include architecture, interior design, bespoke lighting design and a client advisory role at any stage of your project. I am able to help steer the project from inception to completion at every stage - feasibility, sketch design, planning, detail/design development, tender, building control submittals and construction phases, tailoring the design development to suit your specific needs, budget and timescales.
I would love to hear from you about the particular project that you have in mind. My aim is to help you realise your goals with my professional guidance and expertise.
SELECTED PROJECTS

Emsworth
Feasibility study for remodelling of an existing period property at the edge of Emsworth marina.
The building had been subject to many piecemeal changes over the years and the idea was to renovate it aiming to bring back some of the original detail yet provide an updated living accommodation for the family with an elderly father occupying a suite on the ground floor.

Primrose Gardens
Feasibility study for a change of an existing HMO building into two distinct units with separate external access and internal stairs.
The key to the design was to limit the amount of the proposed works to preserve the existing period detail, whist defining two individual dwellings as separate entities.

King's Cross
Refurbishment of an existing minimalist apartment for a photographer, designed to facilitate a space for photoshoots.
The apartment included a a wraparound roof terrace with views of the surrounding area.
Project team: N. Plinston and M. Plinston

Orme Square
Design for a bespoke stair spanning three floors of an existing family home.
The stair threads are beautifully crafted in full oak with concealed fixings.
The two flights are separated by a full height glass screen generating a feeling of light and space at the centre of a family home.

Museum of the Weather
RIBA competition for JMW Turner artist's museum on a site in Cambridge. In this proposal, the site is flooded as a means to re-landscape it and to accentuate the changing climate and its affect on our environment. The museum enclosure is also open to the elements except a single linear exhibit - a controlled capsule which houses all of the JMW Turner precious water colours.
Awarded 3rd prize
Pantechnicon
Planning and listed building consent for an extraordinary building at the centre of Grosvenor Belgravia estate.
The building was previously split into a number of smaller tenancies.

Daily Mail Ideal Homes
Our proposal was for a home that grows and shrinks with the changing circumstances. It utilises converted containers as prefabricated units, which can be transported on the back of a truck and craned into place as factory finished units to high quality and minimal on-site fit out. There is a glazed interconnecting atrium which spans the space, creates unique interstitial conditions and provides views of the sky and floods the space with daylight. Each home is different as it responds differently to its site and its surroundings.
